Windows Codename Embassy is a cancelled Windows operating system. Like Nashville and Neptune, only one build (8113) based on the last leaked Windows 8 Developer Preview build (8161) was leaked. It was compiled on December 12 2011. Its user interface is mainly dark gray. It looks like Windows 8 Consumer Preview in some places and Windows 8 Developer Preview in others, but it has some differences from Windows 8.
An experimental "Notifications" menu, serving the same main purpose as the Notification Center in iOS 5, which was released by Apple earlier in the year, was invoked using an optional green button in the taskbar, which can be hidden in the desktop Control Panel. It looks as if it was an early Modern UI application from Milestone 3 builds of Windows 8. It gets the latest feeds from News, Messaging, and others. This can be considered a precursor to the Action Center in Windows 10.
Messaging was also a new application that made its way to the Windows 8 Consumer Preview and the final release.
The desktop looks just like the Windows 8 Developer Preview, with a Microsoft Confidential watermark and a more Windows XP-esque Start button on the taskbar.

It may have been a version of Windows 8 optimized for tablets. However, it was probably cancelled and merged into Windows 8.
