Windows 9 Windows (2012) is an operating system created by Microsoft, meant to be as a bridging release between Windows 8.x and Windows 10, it had relatively mixed views and reception from the public, and had a new redesigned start screen , along with a new, redesigned look on the operating system. The default theme of Windows 9 is called "Standard Aero Transparent" .

Features[]

  • Updated Applications - New updates were added to applications that came with Windows 9, including Internet Explorer which was updated to Internet Explorer 11.5
  • Updated Security - Security was updated on the operating system, including adding in better internet protection measures.
  • Snip with Updated UI - Snip, a screenshotting software from Microsoft, was updated with a new metro-like UI and more intuitive interface.
  • New Design - Windows Aero was redesigned once more with the coming of Windows 9. Colours were added to the buttons on the windows again, and the windows were transparent . On some applications, such as File Explorer, the top of the windows had also special buttons on the right side for the applications. The start screen has been also re- added to Windows 9, which has been redesign
  • New 'Settings' application - The new settings application includes way more features and tries to bring in more things from control panel onto the new settings app. Allthough the control panel still exists and some settings have to be configured there.
  • New Multitasking Abilities - Microsoft added also new multitasking abilities to the OS, such as the ability to add and switch between multiple desktop.

  • Sounds are the same as Windows 8/8.1.
  • The Windows 9 OS was set to release in 2014.
  • In the system, applications register the '9' in Windows 9 as a different character called 'Microsoft 9' , which was a character created in order for applications to not be confused with Windows 9x operating systems. The 'Microsoft 9' is available on Microsoft's website for developers of apps to copy and paste for compatibility and OS indentification purposes.
