Windows 26 Windows 25 Icon was the 26th major release of Windows. Windows 26 had mixed reception, but it started 3D desktop trend along several optimisations for consumers.

It integrated MCDs into the Windows operating system and continued along the lines of updating and optimising the Windows experience.

It's the last Windows that used Zenith kernel.

New features/changes[]

  • MCDs (5D Memory Crystal drives) are now required to start Windows since MCDs became cheaper in 2090.
  • Zenith V7 kernel which lets Windows boot up in 10 microseconds.
  • Gaming performance over 30000 FPS.
  • Horizon now supports holographic websites with high performance.
  • 3D Desktop Interface was implemented. Windows Menu now supports up to 1000 tiles and 2500 pinned apps. Live tiles support 1000 items now.

Build 95180 (December 4, 2079)[]

Like Windows 25, but with references to Windows 25 renamed to Windows 26.

Build 95195 (December 27, 2079)[]

Beta 3D Desktop enabled with ViveTool Quantum. SSDs support was removed, and a 5D storage drive will be required to run Windows. First advertisement on social media posted.

Build 95200 (January 11, 2080)[]

First Insider Build. 3D holographic website support for Horizon is introduced into this build. Updates to startup and login screens.

Build 95215 (March 4, 2080)[]

Gaming performance skyrocketed to 20000 FPS. 3D Desktop is finished.

Build 95215 [52H2] (April 15, 2080)[]

General availability of Windows 26. Minor bug fixes and security patches.
